The New York Knicks beat the Boston Celtics, yet again, at TD Garden, home of the Boston Celtics. The Celtics have now blown back-to-back 20-point leads and they do not look like a team who are the reigning defending champions currently. The Celtics has a whole shot 10/40 from behind the arc last night, which gives them a make percentage of just 25% and they also shot the exact same percentage from beyond the arc in Game 1, making just 15 three pointers on 60 attempts. While the Celtics tried to attack the paint a lot more than they did in Game 1, the fact remains that they have been heavily struggling when it comes to shooting the basketball.
The Celtics’ superstars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are shooting 31.8% percent from the field, which is the worst shooting percentage of any two game span in their entire playoffs career. They are 2-19 from the field in this 7 game series against the Knicks, and that is arguably the biggest reason why the Celtics have look downright terrible in these playoffs. Jayson Tatum has faced a lot of criticism lately, and rightfully so, as he is averaging 18.0 points, on 28.6% shooting from the field, and 25.0 percent from beyond the arc. He has been awful for the first two games, and we wonder if he can turn it around going forward.

NBA Analyst believes that this series between the Celtics vs. the Knicks is already over, and also claimed that the Celtics would be lucky to even win one game in this series. Let’s find out who that is.
Former NBA Champion, and NBA analyst, Kendrick Perkins, believes that the Celtics are done for, and will not comeback from a 0-2 deficit. He said, “This series is over. I don’t give a damn about what the Celtics’ road wins and their record look like… Do you realize how rocking the Madison Square Garden is gonna be in Game 3? The energy in itself is gonna have the Knicks making shots. Do you realize that they have the best clutch guy in Jalen Brunson? Do you realize that role players actually play better at home? So I’m expecting Mitchell Robinson, Deuce McBride, even Mikal Bridges, to play better at home.”
“Look right now, they have the mental edge over the Boston Celtics, I don’t give a damn what nobody say. The Celtics are done, they are not coming back in this series. I have all the trust, the faith, in the New York Knicks, they’re going to win this series. The Celtics will be lucky to get one game.”
While it’s true that the Knicks have taken a 2-0 lead against the reigning, defending champs, but we cannot count out the Celtics just yet. Despite losing both the games at home, the Celtics have been amazing on the road, ever since the arrival of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. We believe that it is just a matter of time before those shots start falling for Boston, and many teams have made a comeback from an 0-2 deficit.
The Celtics are under must-win situation, and they have to win Game 3 if they plan to make a comeback in this series. If the Celtics fail to capture both the games at New York, this series could be over by Game 6. And for Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, Game 3 is going to be a career-defining game, as they both have not played like the superstars we expect them to be. Meanwhile for the Knicks, as Charles Barkley pointed out, Game 3 is also a must-win game for them, as they can put tremendous amount of pressure on Boston, and no team in the history of the NBA has ever comeback from a 3-0 deficit.
