Nashville Predators Sign Defenseman Adam Wilsby to Two-Year Deal

Nashville Predators secure promising talent Adam Wilsby with a two-year deal, adding depth to their blue line for the upcoming seasons.

The Nashville Predators, led by General Manager Barry Trotz, have signed defenseman Adam Wilsby to a two-year contract. The deal is valued at $775,000 per season, with a two-way structure for the 2025-26 season and a one-way agreement for 2026-27.

The 24-year-old Wilsby has already impacted his rookie NHL season, appearing in 23 games for the Predators during the 2024-25 campaign. He has contributed five points (1 goal, 4 assists) and boasts a +3 rating, averaging 18:06 of ice time per game. Wilsby debuted in the NHL on Nov. 27 against the Philadelphia Flyers and netted his first NHL goal on Dec. 17 versus the New York Rangers, marking the highlight of a three-game point streak (1 goal, 2 assists).

The 6-foot-1, 188-pound defenseman ranks fourth among Nashville’s blueliners in ice time per game and has added 18 hits and 17 blocked shots this season. Wilsby was initially selected by the Predators in the fourth round (101st overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft and has steadily progressed through their system.

Since joining Milwaukee (AHL) in 2022, Wilsby has appeared in 146 games for the Admirals, including 13 this season, recording 1 goal, 4 assists, and a +5 rating. In the 2023-24 season, he hit career highs in the AHL with 21 points (8 goals, 13 assists) in 61 games, sharing the team lead in goals among defensemen and ranking fourth in points. His standout season helped Milwaukee reach the Western Conference Final for the second consecutive year, where he added three assists in 15 playoff games.

Before coming to North America, Wilsby played in 109 games over four seasons with Skellefteå in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). During the 2020-21 campaign, he tallied 18 points (6 goals, 12 assists) in 48 games, the second-highest total among Skellefteå defensemen. Wilsby also had an impressive season in the HockeyAllsvenskan in 2019-20, notching 30 points (3 goals, 27 assists) in 41 games with Södertälje, leading all U-20 players in assists that season. The Stockholm, Sweden native brings a wealth of experience from both Sweden and North America, and the Predators are excited to see him continue to develop in the NHL.
