Myles Garrett on the Move? – NFL Insider Shuts Down All Talks of Browns Potentially Trading Star Pass Rusher!

After putting up a career-best 5-sack performance against the New England Patriots, one would imagine that defensive end Myles Garrett would be a happy man. But, in truth, that is far from the reality.

The Cleveland Browns as a team are under serious fire. While the defense was terrific for the first few weeks of the season, it has lost some of its shine as the season has progressed. That said, the main problem for the Browns is their offense, and in particular, the quarterback position.

In the midst of yet another disappointing season, there is growing speculation among the NFL community that perhaps the Browns should consider trading their star player and starting afresh.

Adam Schefter Denies Browns’ Interest in Trading Myles Garrett

Despite what many in the NFL world may be thinking or even hoping for, the Browns’ even entertaining the thought of trading Myles Garrett is absurd. This comes from ESPN’s NFL insider, Adam Schefter, who was told by a source that there is no chance of such a thing happening.

“For those wondering if the Browns would consider trading Myles Garrett by Tuesday’s deadline, the answer is, in the words of one source, No chance.”

In fact, Schefter’s source is so certain that the Browns are unwilling to go down this path that he even joked that there will be a better chance for somebody to win the lottery.

“Source added: People have a better chance of winning the lottery.”

For those wondering if the Browns would consider trading Myles Garrett by Tuesday’s deadline, the answer is, in the words of one source, “No chance.”

Should the Browns Trade Garrett?

Despite the fact that the Browns seem hellbent on retaining Garrett for the foreseeable future, it is worth considering whether a trade would make sense. First and foremost, Garrett is one of the superstars of this league, and there would be plenty of takers for him.

Secondly, a trade for Garrett would certainly command a huge price in the form of a return. Getting a player-for-player swap is out of the question, but there is a great possibility the Browns can get a couple of first-round draft picks.

Earlier in the offseason, Garrett himself requested a trade from Cleveland, but those talks ended quickly as the Browns made him the highest-paid non-quarterback at that point. Whether it was only about the money, we will never know, but Garrett did have his chance at an exit from a team that is clearly miles away from competing for a championship.

Having said that, looking at this situation, the Browns have some draft capital in the upcoming NFL draft, and their current young players are looking like they can turn into quality players. The problem for Garrett is that he is not getting any younger, and by the time the Browns could potentially compete for the Super Bowl, his time may have passed.
