China Open WTA-1000 action resumes on Manic Monday.
18-year-old prodigy Mirra Andreeva is set to lock horns with Spanish No. 2 Jessica Bouzas Maneiro in the 2025 China Open Round-3 on Monday. It will be the first meeting between these two WTA mainstays at the National Tennis Center in Beijing. The winner of this heated encounter will take on either Maya Joint or Sonay Kartal in the pre-quarterfinal stage. Let’s take a look at all the records and statistics in the prelude to the contest, as well as BetMGM’s favorable betting odds.
After achieving her career-best Grand Slam performance by reaching the semifinals of Roland Garros in 2024, Mirra Andreeva was declared as one of the players to watch out for this year. The Russian prodigy justified the hype at the beginning of the 2025 campaign – she reached the final four in Brisbane, before winning back-to-back WTA-1000 trophies in Dubai and Indian Wells. Andreeva also reached three quarterfinals on clay, and two on grass. Simultaneously flourishing on the doubles tour, the World No. 5 has a 39-13 record so far.

Jessica Bouzas Maneiro has pulled off a resurgence that very few players are capable of. Having won just two tour-level matches up until April 2025, the Spaniard resorted to the clay courts of Rouen to gain some confidence. After reaching two quarterfinals on the red dirt, the 23-year-old entered a maiden Grand Slam Round of 16 at Wimbledon. During the North American hard court swing, Bouzas Maneiro reached the last eight in Montreal and pre-quarterfinal in Cincinnati. She has beaten Cristian and Yastremska this week in order to reach this stage.

Andreeva looked brutally sharp in her opener against Zhu, and played with an attacking mindset. The Russian has one of the best defensive slices on both wings, and balanced things out by garnering great depth on her flat groundstrokes. Even when she mishits the full-blooded shots, the 18-year-old can go for high net clearance follow-ups and return to neutral due to her court coverage. Expect Bouzas Maneiro to offer stealthy resistance; however, it is hard to look past the No. 4 seed in the Beijing third round.
Prediction: Mirra Andreeva in three sets.
Andreeva is the favorite (1/5) and Bouzas Maneiro is the underdog (7/2) in the 2025 Beijing WTA-1000 Round of 32. According to the implied probability on the money line, the Russian has a 69% chance of calling the shots. Here are all the key odds (as per BetMGM):
