Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Game 1 Sneak Peek. Lineups

Can the Warriors survive without Curry again?

Stephen Curry was on fire in Game 1. He had nailed 3 triples en route to a 15-point performance with just around 30% of the game done. But after he made a floater around mid-range, the guard felt something was off with his hamstring.

He left the game with around 8 minutes left in the second quarter and never returned to the match. The Dubs managed to extend their lead to 13 points by the end of the first despite his absence. Their dynamic defense limited the Wolves to a mere 31 points in 24 minutes.

The Dubs then had a humongous 36-29 third quarter. By then, the Timberwolves had dug too big a hole. They managed a 9-point advantage in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late. Buddy Hield filled Curry’s void with 24 points. after an explosive 33-point game in the deciding game of the first round,

Jimmy Butler had an all-around 20-point, 11-rebound,  and 8-assist performance. Meanwhile, Draymond Green, who has averaged single figures thus far, pitched in with 18 points. Gary Payton II was huge again as he snatched 4 steals of the benhc.

For the Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards led the way with 23 points, while Naz Reid was terrific with 19 points off the bench. Julius Randle had 18 points while Jaden McDaniels had 12, but it wasn’t enough in the end.

Minnesota made just 5 triples compared to 18 by the Dubs. They need to evaluate their horrible play in Game 1 and need to be more assertive against a switch-heavy Warriors defense.

Timberwolves Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Mike Conley | SG: Anthony Edwards | SF: Jaden McDaniels | PF: Julius Randle | C: Rudy Gobert

Key bench players: SG: Donte DiVincenzo, SG: Nickeil Alexander-Walker, C: Naz Reid

Injuries/Updates: Nothing significant to report

Warriors Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Stephen Curry | SG: Brandin Podziemski | SG: Buddy Hield | SF: Jimmy Butler | PF/C: Draymond Green

Key bench players: SG/SF: Moses Moody, PG: Gary Payton II, SF: Jonathan Kuminga, C: Quinten Post

Injuries/Updates: Stephen Curry is QUESTIONABLE.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Total Over/Under Prediction- NBA Betting Picks

The first game produced just 187 points. It fell way below the bookmakers’ projection of 209. Last time, I suggested an “under” and the Warriors falling below 100. The former bet cleared with flying colors, but the latter just by a whisker.

At any rate, I see the scoring going up in Game 2, but how much? The bookmakers have brought down the identical odds to around 201-202 for understandable reasons. I will go “over” this time around.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Player Props Predictions- NBA Best Bets

Jimmy Butler III to score over 24.5 points: JB has averaged over 20+ PPG since the start of the playoffs. He had 20 in the last game, and with Curry’s injury, he will have more responsibilities. Thus, I see him scoring 25 here at least.

Anthony Edwards to score over 28.5 points: Edwards has gone “Under” his stipulated projection of around 27-28 points. I have chosen him to go “over” on most occasions despite the trend, and will opt for it again.

Draymond Green to dish over 4.5 assists: Green has dished 5 or more assists in three straight games. If Curry misses the game/or is limited, he will have a big role as a playmaker. Thus, I see him delivering 5 or more helpers.

Main pick: Jimmy Butler O 24.5 points for -110 at BetMGM

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Game 2 Prediction- Betting Lines

The Warriors will be devastated because of Curry’s injury. However, having two high-quality vets like Butler and Green is a bonus in such circumstances. On the other hand, Minnesota will be gutted after losing a game on its home floor against a team without its ace.

It doesn’t reflect well on them after they crushed the LA Lakers 4-1 in their previous series. But we have seen how teams with long rest have struggled in Game 1s.

Thus, it can be the same for Minnesota. I expect them to put together a much better performance here and level the series. But will they cover the spread of -10.5 points? I have some doubts

Betting Lines:

Spread: Timberwolves: -10.5: -105. Warriors: -10.5: -115

Total: 201.5: 0:-110. U: -11-0

Player Props: Points: Julius Randle: 18.5. O: -115. U: -115
