The Timberwolves won Game 4 by 7 points (117-110) and are one step away from their second straight West Finals appearance. Can the Dubs at least stop them for a while? Go through the spread, total, and player props predictions here.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Game 5 Lineups, Sneak Peek

The Warriors are sinking without Stephen Curry

There is no doubt that the series could have been 2-2 if Stephen Curry were available for the Warriors. During Game 4, none of the Warriors’ starters went past the 14-point mark. Don’t get me wrong. It was a fantastic team effort, especially in the first half when the team had a 60-58 advantage.

Coach Steve Kerr would have loved the scoring balance, but they needed someone to take over the game in the third quarter. Minnesota extracted a 39-17 third quarter, which can end up being the catalyst for their series win.

The seven-point margin is misleading because of a late run by the Dubs’ bench when the Timberwolves had already booked the game. It was the same old story. The Warriors were massively outgunned from the three-point range. They made fewer than 10 threes for the third game straight, while the Timberwolves once again had a 5+ long-range advantage.

They could have significantly closed these gaps had Curry been there, as the sharpshooter routinely makes 3+ triples. Meanwhile, Julius Randle continued his fairytale playoff run and scored 31 to complement Anthony Edwards’ 30-point performance.

For the Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga had another heroic performance with 23 points, but it wasn’t enough. At any rate, the Timberwolves are cruising and would likely seal the deal in Game 5.

Timberwolves Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Mike Conley | SG: Anthony Edwards | SF: Jaden McDaniels | PF: Julius Randle | C: Rudy Gobert

Key bench players: SG: Donte DiVincenzo, SG: Nickeil Alexander-Walker, C: Naz Reid

Injuries/Updates: Nothing significant to report

Warriors Expected Starting Lineup

SG: Brandin Podziemski | SG: Buddy Hield | SF: Jimmy Butler | SF: Jonathan Kuminga PF/C: Draymond Green |

Key bench players: SG/SF: Moses Moody, PG: Gary Payton II, C: Trayce Jackson-Davis, C: Quinten Post

Injuries/Updates: Stephen Curry is OUT again.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Total Over/Under Prediction- NBA Betting Picks

The series had been low-scoring in the first three games. The highest total was 210 by that point. However, both teams scored 110 or more in Game 4. Meanwhile, Minnesota put up 117 for the second time this series.

The Warriors’ second half was abysmal, and they would like to improve their defense. But it happens when your ace is missing, you can lose focus on defense, as the mountain can look too steep to climb.

At any rate, I expect yet another 110+ points performance from the Timberwolves while the Warriors may struggle to go past 100.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Player Props Predictions- NBA Best Bets

Buddy Hield to score over 14.5 points: Hield has been at his best in the playoffs. He has scored 13 or more in five straight postseason games. I see him go in the 15-19 range here.

Julius Randle to score over 22.5 points: JR has been terrific in the playoffs on the offensive front. He has scored 24 or more in three straight games and has upped his level. Therefore, he seems to be a safe “Over” option here.

Anthony Edwards to make over 3.5 3-pointers: Antman has made five or more triples in two straight games, to make up for his earlier slump. I see him nailing around 5 again.

Main pick: Julius Randle O 22.5 points for -105 at BetMGM

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Golden State Warriors Game 5 Prediction- Betting Lines

The Timberwolves enter as the overwhelming favorites here. In fact, the bookmakers are favoring them to win by double-digits at their home floor. I also believe Minnesota will close the book on Golden State here.

I am not sure if the Warriors will go down by double-digits. They have covered the spread in two of the four games, and see them do it again. But I would still tread carefully with the margin here.

  • Spread: Timberwolves: -10.5: -116 Warriors: -10.5: -105 (FanDuel)
  • Total: 202.5: 0:-110. U: -110 (FanDuel)
  • Player Props: Points: Jimmy Butler: 26,5. O: -110. U: -120

Safe Spread Pick:  Warriors +4.5 for +105 at BetMGM
