Minnesota Lynx vs Los Angeles Sparks Lineups, Sneak Peek

Lynx: The chase for the title is for real

The Lynx enters the game after an impressive 76-62 win against the Las Vegas Aces, as Courtney Williams rose for a 20-point performance. It was their second straight win, and the team has only lost one game so far.

The 2024 finalists are in no mood to relinquish their form and dictate how the game is played. Their offensive game is built on deliberate passing and finding the best possible instead of taking tough shots.

Despite having the slowest pace (76.2), they are #1 in assists with 24.1 APG. Meanwhile, their defense has been impeccable, limiting opponents to 40.8% FG(2nd).

Naphessa Coiller is having another MVP-styled season, whereas Courtney Williams, Kayla McBride, Bridget Carleton, Natisa Hiedeman, and Alanna Smith form a terrific supporting cast on both ends.

Los Angeles Sparks: An underwhelming season

The Sparks enter the match after another disappointing 67-98 loss against the Seattle Storm despite a 17-point performance by Rickea Jackson. The Sparks shot just 32.8% FG while allowing 52% FG.

They are on the cusp of losing three in a row for the third time during the 2025 season. The trio of Kelsey Plum, Jackson, and Dearcia Hamby was expected to do better, but things are developing at a poor rate.

There have been strong performances individually, but the Sparks have been underwhelming as a group. Their defense inside the three-point line has been terrible as LA has allowed 52.3% FG from there(worst).

The Sparks may miss out on the playoffs for the fifth straight year. It is a shame because this is perhaps their best unit on paper in the last three to four years.

Sparks Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Kelsey Plum | SG: Shey Peddy | SF: Rickea Jackson | PF: Azura Stevens | PF/C:  Dearica Hamby

Key bench players:  SG: Grace Berger, SF: Emma Cannon

Injuries/Updates: Kelsey Plum’s STATUS is unknown. Julie Allemand is OUT due to EuroBasket commitments. Odyssey Sims has been AWAY due to “personal” reasons.

Lynx Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Courtney Williams | SG: Kayla McBride | SF: Bridget Carleton | PF: Napheesa Coiller | C: Alanna Smith”

Key bench players: PG: Natisha Hiedeman, SF: Diamond Miller.

Injuries/Updates: Jessica Shepard continues to be listed as “OUT”.

Minnesota Lynx vs Los Angeles Sparks Total Over/Under Prediction- WNBA Best Bets

The Lynx doesn’t usually go for high-scoring games due to their slow pace. On the other hand, the Sparks are struggling offensively and are in tatters without veteran Odyssey Sims.

Defensively, Minnesota has a huge superiority over the Sparks, and the latter will likely be unable to contain their post game. It can shoot Lynx’s score up to the 90s while the Sparks may struggle to pass 80 again. Overall, the total can be in the “over” bracket.

Total: Over 162.5 for at BetMGM

Minnesota Lynx vs Los Angeles Sparks Player Props Predictions- WNBA Betting Picks

Napheesa Collier O 25.5 points: The MVP frontrunner can have a field day against the vulnerable Sparks defense. She is averaging 24.4 PPG and had 32 against the Sparks just a few days ago, so a 25+ points performance is not out of the realm.

Kayla McBride O 3.5 three-pointers: McBride hasn’t hit a single three-pointer in the last two games. But the streaky shooter had hit 3 or more in three games before that. I see her getting in the groove here to hit more than 3 treys.

Rickea Jackson O 15.5 points: Jackson has recovered from a terrible scoring start, but has put up 22.3 PPG over the last three games, including an 18-point performance against Minny. I believe she will score at least 16 here.

Main pick: Rebounds: Napheesa Collier Over 25.5 points at BetMGM

Minnesota Lynx vs Los Angeles Sparks Spread Prediction

The Lynx have been playing the best basketball thus far. Their defense has been tightening up, and except for the debacle against Storm, they have been rock solid.

On the other hand, the Sparks are devolving with each passing day, and the absence of key players has worsened the woes. At any rate, the Lynx will enter as the obvious favorites to cover the spread here.
