On Sunday, August 24, the Minnesota Lynx (29-7) will host the Indiana Fever (19-17) in a WNBA regular-season match-up.

It will be a back-to-back meeting after an exciting battle on Friday. The Lynx beat the Fever 95-90 as Jessica Shepard recorded the fastest triple-double in WNBA history.

Fever’s Kelsey Mitchell scored 27, and the Fever shot an amazing 54.8%. However, they allowed five extra offensive rebounds, and the Lynx shot a spectacular 55.9%.

Kayla McBride led all scorers with 29. Fever’s Lexie Hull scored a career-high 23, but in a losing effort.

Can the Fever take their revenge in this game as Napheesa Collier aims for a comeback? Check the predictions related to player props, total, and spread here.

Minnesota Lynx vs Indiana Fever Lineups, News, Form

Indiana Fever

The Fever’s playoff push has weakened lately. They have lost five of their last seven games. Their defense needs to improve for better returns. Here are some facts about them:

  • The Fever is 11-12 without Caitlin Clark.
  • Lexie Hull is averaging 5.75 RPG over the last four games.
  • Odyssey Sims has averaged 4.25 APG over the last four games.

Fever Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Odyssey Sims | SG: Kelsey Mitchell | SG/SF: Lexie Hull | PF: Natasha Howard | C: Aliyah Boston

Key bench players: PG: Shey Peddy, SG: Damaris Dantas, PF: Brianna Turner

Injuries/Updates: Caitlin Clark remains OUT. Odyssey Sims is a Game-Time Decision. Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, and Aari McDonald are OUT for the season.

Minnesota Lynx

The Lynx plays like an elite squad even without their ace, Napheesa Collier. Jessica Shepard’s all-around emergence has helped cover up her absence.

The Lynx remain the title favorites. Here are some facts about them:

  • The Lynx is 17-1 at home.
  • Alanna Smith is averaging almost 7 RPG since the last six games.
  • Jessica Shepard has grabbed at least 10 rebounds in four straight matches.

Lynx Expected Starting Lineup

PG: Courtney Williams | SG: Kayla McBride | SF: Bridget Carleton | PF: Napheesa Collier | C:  Alanna Smith

Key bench players: PF: Jessica Shepard, PF: Maria Kliundikova, PG: Natisha Hiedeman.

Injuries/Updates: Napheesa Collier has been listed as DOUBTFUL to QUESTIONABLE lately. Her status here is unclear thus far.

Minnesota Lynx vs Indiana Fever Total Over/Under Prediction- WNBA Best Bets

The Lynx’s offense isn’t the same without Collier, but it works. They’d hope she returns so that they can play with full strength. Collier or not, the Lynx’s defense is really solid and most consistent.

They have restricted teams below 80 regularly.

On the other hand, the Fever’s offense is flowing. They have repeatedly scored 90 or more, even without their ace, Caitlin Clark. But their defense has been a step slow, as they can concede 90+ too.

The last game between the two yielded 185 points. I see a shift in the vibe for a lower-scoring game. Going for “Under” might be the way here.

Total: Under 168.5 for -110 at BetMGM

Here is an overview of my selections:

Minnesota Lynx vs Indiana Fever Player Props Predictions- WNBA Betting Picks

Kelsey Mitchell O 20.5 Points: Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell has been in tremendous touch. She has averaged 20.6 PPG on a brilliant 45.1% shooting.

She has scored 24 or more in four of the last five games. I expect at least 21 here.

Courtney Williams O 5.5 Assists: Williams had a quiet 1 assist affair against the Fever. This is a huge exception as the guard is averaging 6.1 APG.

She has delivered fewer than 6 helpers in five of the last seven games, but I see that changing here.

Aliyah Boston O 8.5 Rebounds: Boston is one of the best rebounders in the league. She is averaging 8.3 RPG, but has rebounding rate has seen a slight decline lately.

However, I see her picking up the slack with an 8+ rebounds performance.

Main pick: Kelsey Mitchell O 20.5 Points at BetMGM

Minnesota Lynx vs Indiana Fever Spread Prediction

The Lynx are doing well without Collier, but the bubble will pop without her at some point. For instance, they lost two in a row for the first time this season in her absence.

The Lynx is still a top-five team without their ace, but her void can be felt on offense.

On the other hand, the Fever has been hot and cold throughout the season. They can’t afford to be cold anymore. The team needs to regroup on defense if they are to win against top teams.

At any rate, I expect the Lynx to win, but the spread of 12+ points in their favor looks too much. I expect a rather a 1-10 points win for them. Thus, I’ll choose the Fever to cover the bloated spread.

Spread/Money Line Pick:  Fever +12.5 for -118 at BetMGM
