Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks Preview

Miami Heat

With a 26-30 record, the Miami Heat are coming off an 98-86 loss against the Atlanta Hawks in their last outing. All-star Tyler Herro, who had scored 40 points in two of his previous three games, was held to 11 points on 4-for-19 shooting. Andrew Wiggins had 23 points for Miami, which lost for the sixth time in seven games and missed 13 of its first 14 3-point attempts. Miami is 2-6 since trading Jimmy Butler to the Warriors.

The Heat, concluding a five-game road trip, faced challenges in maintaining leads, notably in a prior loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Additionally, Miami’s wing player Nikola Jovic suffered a broken hand during the Bucks game, further affecting the team’s depth and rotation for the rest of the season. For their upcoming game, the Heat will be determined to bounce back at home after a series of setbacks.

Miami Heat Probable Starting Lineup – Davion Mitchell, Tyler Herro, Andrew Wiggings, Bam Adebayo, Kel’el Ware

Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks are coming off a 98-86 win against the Miami Heat in their last outing. Onyeka Okongwu had 17 points and eight rebounds, while Terrance Mann and Caris LaVert both added 15 points off the bench, snapping a three-game losing streak. NBA steals leader Dyson Daniel had seven steals, one off a season high. The Hawks allowed their fewest points since 2021 and moved past Miami into eight place in the Eastern Conference.

The Hawks thrive on an up-tempo, high scoring offensive scheme but their defensive consistency has been an area of concern, allowing opponents 119.0 points per game. For their upcoming 2nd match of a back-to-back, the Hawks will be eager to continue their upward momentum from their recent win. The Hawks, led by Trae Young, will look to exploit fast breaks and must remain disciplined to avoid turnovers that could swing the game in Miami’s favor.

Atlanta Hawks Probable Starting Lineup –  Trae Young, Dyson Daniels, Zacharie Risacher, Onyeka Okongwu, Mouhamed Gueye

Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks Over/Under Predictions

Total Match Points Under 220.5

This is the third regular season game between the Heat and Hawks this season. The last two games have been quite contrasting: the first game had a total of 230 points, while the game a couple of nights ago had only 184. This suggests a low-scoring game is likely, as both teams seem to be struggling offensively, with the Heat also playing strong defense.

Atlanta Hawks Total Team Points Over 108.5

The Hawks scored fewer than 100 points for the first time in 11 games.  During that stretch, they averaged 122.5 points per game. Despite their low-scoring game against the Heat last time, the Hawks are likely to score over 108 points, as they can be very efficient offensively from long range.

Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks Player Picks

Trae Young Total Assists Over 10.5 –  Trae Young had 14 assists in his last game against the Heat, and he’s averaging 12 assists per game against them over their last three matchups.  His playmaking and ball-handling skills make him a significant threat to the Heat, and we predict another highly productive game from him, with his total assists exceeding 10.5.

Miami Heat vs Atlanta Hawks Match Prediction

The Heat lost both their previous matchups against the Hawks this season and lost three of their last four home games, while the Hawks won three of their last four away games and have looked solid on the offensive end, where the Heat struggled to score points and are ranked 24th on offense where they shot 45.3% from the field and 35.6% from long range. Offense is going to be vital in this fixture and we believe the Hawks will prevail in this game.

Our Prediction – We back the Atlanta Hawks to Win the game and predict the total match points Under 220.5
