10-man Inter Miami survived against NYC FC in MLS season opener

Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami started their MLS campaign against New York City FC on Saturday night and it turned out to be a thrilling contest. The Herons were on the verge of losing the game but an injury-time strike from Telasco Segovia assured a 2-2 draw in season opener.

Lionel Messi, who made headlines after scoring in coldest game of his career, bagged two assists in the eventual draw. His second assist was crucial for Inter Miami, who were losing the game 1-2. The Argentine made a perfect through ball for Telasco Segovia in the extra-time and the latter scored the equalizer with an exquisite chip over Freese.

Meanwhile, Inter Miami won’t be happy with this performance as they were held for a draw after scoring the early first goal. Fans were divided on Inter Miami’s mixed performance as Messi and Co. almost lost the first game of the season.
