Mavericks vs Spurs Preview

Dallas Mavericks

Dallas dropped one more game since Thompson’s homecoming clash against the Warriors. Despite taking the fourth quarter 28-16, the Mavericks lost to Jazz 115-113. Utah were 3-point behind at the half-break but they outscored the Mavericks 38-21 in third quarter. Collins scored a tip-in dunk with 37 seconds to play and Utah won the only third game of the season. Luka Doncic paced Mavericks with 37 points but failed to prevent the loss.

Mavericks have listed three players on the injury report. Washington (knee) is doubtful and Luka Doncic (knee) remains questionable for the encounter. Meanwhile, Dante Exam underwent surgery on his right wrist and he will return in January.

San Antonio Spurs

San Antonio Spurs have posted a 6-7 record through the first 13 games this season and the Over is 1-4 on the road. The Silver and Black dropped a home game against the Lakers 120-115 in the NBA Cup to face the third home defeat of the season. Wembanyama paced the Spurs with 28 points but they couldn’t survive against the interior dominance of LeBron James, and Anthony Davis.

Spurs are averaging 102.4 on the road, 12.7 points less than the home average. The hosts may welcome Tre Jones who has recovered from an ankle injury. Currently, they have listed Sochan on the injury report and his absence is really hurting them. He suffered a fracture in the proximal phalanx of his left thumb and will return next month.

Who’s Expected to Win?

San Antonio Spurs are struggling to make possession of the ball, courtesy of Jeremy Sochan’s absence. Dallas enters the fixtures back of 4-game losing streak but the Spurs will not trouble them. It would be a battle of offensive rebounds where Spurs are lacking the most. The Mavericks have a favorable chance to halt their losing streak on Saturday night.
