The Tkachuk brothers share their 4 Nations experience, Team USA pride, and emotional Stanley Cup moment with their dad on New Heights.

Hockey has never been more popular in the United States, and a big reason for that is the success of the 4 Nations Face-Off. The tournament didn’t just mark the NHL’s return to international play, it took the sport’s visibility to another level, drawing millions of new fans.

The championship game between Team USA and Team Canada was a massive hit, with over 16 million viewers tuning in. Even though the Americans fell short, two players from the U.S. team, brothers Matthew and Brady Tkachuk, have become breakout stars. Their energy, passion, and talent have made them two of the most exciting names in the NHL, and they’ve been making waves off the ice as well.

Since the tournament, Matthew Tkachuk has been on a whirlwind media tour, making high-profile appearances on both television and podcasts. On Monday, he stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where he seemed completely at ease, handling questions and jokes like a natural. Just a couple of days later, he and Brady appeared on New Heights, the podcast hosted by NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce.

The Tkachuks reflected on their experience at the 4 Nations Face-Off, which marked the first time they played together on the same team, praising the NHL and NHLPA for exceeding all expectations. The conversation took a personal turn when the brothers shared memories of growing up with their father, Keith Tkachuk, a legendary NHL player who spent 19 seasons in the league. For Matthew, one of the most emotional moments of his career was celebrating his Stanley Cup win with his dad.

“It was so special, He worked his [butt] off for 19 years but ultimately didn’t get to finish the job. After the game, when we’re on the ice and I finally got to hug them all, I don’t know how the Cup ended up in my hands … and just me handing it to my dad that first time was a feeling that I’ll never be able to explain how unbelievable it was.” : Matthew said.

Matthew also shared stories about his day with the Cup, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most memorable days of his life. After plenty of laughs, friendly chirps, and a few heartfelt moments, the interview wrapped up—but not before the Kelce brothers teased their next hockey guest. If all goes as planned, they’re aiming to bring on none other than Wayne Gretzky.
