Report: Man Utd in Three-Way Race for Nicolas Jackson as Chelsea Consider Offers

Ritam Dey

Manchester United have joined a three-way pursuit of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, as the Red Devils look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2025–26 season. Jackson, who arrived at Stamford Bridge in 2023, is no longer considered an automatic starter after Chelsea’s recent signings—and his situation has alerted several clubs across Europe.

Chelsea Reinforce Attack, Nicolas Jackson’s Future in Doubt

Chelsea’s front line has become increasingly competitive following the big-money arrivals of João Pedro from Brighton for £60 million and Liam Delap from Ipswich Town for £30 million. Both forwards made strong impressions at the Club World Cup, with Pedro netting three times and Delap scoring his first goal for the club.

These additions have put Nicolas Jackson’s starting role under threat, sparking interest from Manchester United, AC Milan, and Aston Villa. While Chelsea are not actively pushing to offload Jackson, The Times reports that the striker is no longer considered “untouchable.” A significant offer could persuade the Blues to part ways with the 23-year-old Senegalese forward.

United Assessing Striker Options Amid Goal Drought

Manchester United’s attack was among the most disappointing aspects of their 2024–25 campaign. With Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling for form, manager Ruben Amorim is under pressure to bring in a reliable goal-scorer.

The club has already spent big on Matheus Cunha (£62.5m) and remains in talks for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, but the need for an out-and-out striker persists. Jackson, despite being raw at times, is viewed as a promising and physically gifted forward who could fit into United’s long-term project.

United had also been strongly linked with Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres, but Arsenal are believed to be in pole position for the Swedish striker—leaving Jackson as a viable and increasingly appealing option.

With Chelsea open to offers and interest mounting, Nicolas Jackson’s future could be one of the more intriguing transfer stories of the summer.
