Luka Doncic Scripts History as he Leads Los Angeles Lakers to Fourth Straight Win with Near Triple Double

Luka Doncic created another NBA record during Lakers win over the Jazz.

Los Angeles Lakers’ newest superstar Luka Doncic created NBA history as he flirted with a triple double during a win over the Utah Jazz. The Lakers recorded their fourth straight victory on Sunday, November 23, as they handed a 108-106 loss to the Jazz in a thrilling encounter. Doncic led the charts with 33 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists. He was shooting 10-of-12 from the field and 3-of-12 from the three-point range.

With his performance against the Jazz, the Slovenian added his name into history books. He is now the first player in the history of the league to have 400+ points and 100+ assists through 12 games. Doncic has scored 414 points and recorded 107 assists thus far in the NBA 2025-26 season. Not only this, but he has also tied Russell Westbrook for the most 30/10/5 games by a guard since 1965.

Notably, Doncic’s performances have played a major role in the team’s success ever since he moved from the Dallas Mavericks to Hollywood in February this year. He finished the previous campaign with an average of 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.5 assists through 28 games. In this season, he has led the seventeen-time champions to an impressive campaign thus far even when LeBron James was nursing sciatica. The 26-year-old is averaging 34.5 ppg, 8.8 rpg, and 8.9 apg on 46.7% shooting from the field and 31.1% shooting from the three-point range.

JJ Redick Opens Up on Team’s Three-Point Shooting Woes

Though the Lakers have recorded 12 wins in 16 games this season, and are seeded second in the West, they are still one of the worst teams when it comes to three-point shooting. Their three-point shooting of 33.3 places them in the 26th spot of the standings. After the game, head coach JJ Redick opened up on the same and said that such woes are unacceptable.

“I told the guys this after the game: We’re literally one of the worst shooting teams in the NBA right now. I don’t think that’s who we are. We’ve gotta make shots and we’ve gotta shoot ’em with confidence,” Redick said.

Now that Redick has addressed the issue, we can expect the Lakers to get back on track and improve their shooting from deep. Nonetheless, it is something that only time will tell, but as of now, the Gold and Purple are gearing up to lock horns with the LA Clippers in an NBA Group Stage game on Tuesday, November 25.

Coming back to Sunday’s game, Austin Reaves followed Luka Doncic with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists while LeBron James dropped 17 points. Rui Hachimura was another player who finished in double digits with 13 points for the winners.
