The Los Angeles Clippers will play a second back-to-back against the Mavericks here. Before that, they were on a two-game winning streak. They have won 12 of their last 15 games (Excluding the Mavs tilt last night), Even the losses were within 7 points, including a 5-point defeat against East table toppers Cavs and just a 2-point loss against the West table toppers, Oklahoma City Thunder.

James Harden’s elevated play and Kawhi Leonard’s presence have been major factors. But the biggest reason behind their brilliant play is their hard-nosed defense. During the last 15 games, they have conceded just 106.1 points per game(2nd). In that period, their biggest crown jewel was limiting the Thunder to just 103(20 points below their season average). The Clippers have a huge chance of finishing inside the top six in the West, as the race is wide open from the 2nd to the 8th seed.

It was their fifth win in seven games, which has somewhat erased the hurt of a 1-9 record because of mounting injuries. AD has been key to turning around their season, and the team is 5-1 when he is active, denoting his importance to the team.

Spencer Dinwiddie has upgraded his play, both as a scorer and playmaker, while Klay Thompson has done all right despite recurring shooting troubles(38.9% FG in March). The return of Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford has given a much-needed boost to the center position. Overall, the Mavs don’t have their best unit without Irving, but their competitive nature has brought hopes of at least a play-in tournament berth.

Ivica Zubac to grab over 13.5 rebounds: The tough center has averaged around 12 rebounds per game since March. I believe he will effect a lot to misses here and clean around 15 boards.

Norman Powell to score over 22.5 points: The high-scorer is still recovering from his injury but has scored 20+ in two of the last three games. I believe he will be in the 23-26 range.
