Logan Thompson faces the Golden Knights for the first time since joining the Capitals, marking an emotional return to Vegas.
Logan Thompson returns to Las Vegas for the first time since joining the Capitals on June 29; he made 24 saves in a 4-2 win against the Golden Knights at Capital One Arena in Washington on Oct. 15. Vegas (11-4-2) has triumphed in its last two matches. Bruce Cassidy is on the brink of becoming the 41st coach in NHL history and the eighth active one to reach 400 career victories.
The Golden Knights have a home record of 8-1-0 this season; however, their eight consecutive home wins were halted with a 5-2 defeat against the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday. Alex Ovechkin is still actively chasing Wayne Gretzky’s record for the most NHL goals in the same arena where he and the Capitals claimed their solitary Stanley Cup victory.

In the recent nine games of this season, he has scored eight goals, although he has not scored in the last two games. He has a total of 10 goals this season and a career total of 863 goals, which is 31 goals less than Gretzky’s record of 894.
Ovechkin has also scored points in three consecutive games (two goals, two assists) and in eight out of nine games (15 points; eight goals, seven assists). The Washington team with a record of 11-4-1 emerged victorious with a 5-2 score in their game against the Colorado Avalanche on Friday.

Whether it’s breaking down a game, analyzing a big trade, or capturing the emotions on the ice, I bring the NHL to life through words. So what's the best part you ask? Watching the action unfold and turning it into something fans can connect with. To my readers: Hockey is more than just a game—it’s the highs, the heartbreaks, and the moments that make us jump off our seats. So, keep cheering, keep debating, and never stop loving the madness of the sport!
