Liverpool vs Manchester United Head to Head: Who Holds the Edge in Overall Record Ahead of Premier League Clash?

Moumita Dutta

Liverpool and Manchester United meet again at Anfield this weekend in one of the Premier League’s most fiercely contested rivalries. The stakes are high, with United looking to close the gap on league leaders Liverpool to just two points.

Arne Slot’s men have struggled for form. They’ve suffered three consecutive defeats across all competitions before the international break, including a disappointing Champions League loss to Galatasaray. Defensive lapses have been their biggest concern.

Liverpool have conceded nine goals in their last six league matches. Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United enter the contest with growing confidence after winning two of their last three Premier League fixtures.

However, their away form remains a concern, having failed to win any of their last eight away games. Despite their struggles on the road, United will draw inspiration from their recent 2-2 draw at Anfield, aiming to end their five-game winless streak against the Reds.

Liverpool vs Manchester United Premier League 2025-26 Team News

Arne Slot has received fitness boosts ahead of the clash, confirming Ibrahima Konate and Ryan Gravenberch are fit to feature. However, Alisson Becker remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, while Giovanni Leoni is out long-term. Mohamed Salah, with 19 Premier League goal involvements against United, remains Liverpool’s most potent attacking threat.

Ruben Amorim faces defensive concerns with Lisandro Martinez still recovering from a knee issue, while Noussair Mazraoui and Ayden Heaven are doubtful. Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, and Amad Diallo are fit after short recovery periods. Amorim may stick with Mason Mount, Benjamin Sesko, and Bryan Mbeumo, though Manuel Ugarte could start.
