Lionel Messi Gives Ousmane Dembele His Entire Kit After PSG’s Dominant Win Over Inter Miami

Inter Miami’s FIFA Club World Cup debut ended in harsh reality as Paris Saint-Germain swept to a 4-0 victory over the MLS side. The Champions League winners advanced comfortably to the quarterfinals with a dominant first-half performance. Joao Neves starred with a first-half brace as PSG raced into control. Defender Tomas Aviles added to Miami’s misery with an own goal before Achraf Hakimi fired in a fourth just before half-time.

Following the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 encounter in Atlanta, Lionel Messi and Ousmane Dembele shared a heartwarming moment. The former Barcelona teammates reunited on the pitch for the first time since Messi’s departure from PSG. Notably, Dembele came off the bench for PSG in his first appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup.

After the match, the Fenchman made his way straight to Messi. The pair exchanged a warm hug before Messi gifted Dembele his entire match kit, including his iconic No. 10 jersey, shorts, and socks. The PSG forwatd later posted a picture alongside Messi on social media which he captioned: ‘Good to see you again @leomessi, the greatest of all time.. I hope you continue to make history with the @intermiamicf as in this World Club.’

Dembele Makes Long-Awaited Comeback Against Inter Miami

On a positive night for PSG, Ousmane Dembele made his long-awaited return from a thigh injury. The attacker came on as a second-half substitute against Inter Miami. The forward, who has already notched an impressive 33 goals this season, had missed all of PSG’s group stage fixtures as he recovered from the setback. After playing against Inter Miami, Dembele later said that he feels fully fit and ready to help the French champions push for the FIFA Club World Cup title.

Notably, Dembele played alongside Messi at Barcelona for four years and the duo won two La Liga titles together. Dembele also managed to get the shirts of his former Barcelona teammnates Jordi Alba and Luis Suarez after the match.
