Paige Bueckers shared, “It’s super ironic. Life really comes full circle, and God works in mysterious ways. But just to be here in Dallas embracing a new team, a new city, a new organization, and then the opening game being against the dynasty that I looked up to so much growing up, really full-circle moment for sure.”

Minnesota Lynx was for the longest time one of the fiercest teams in the WNBA, especially during the 2011-2017 era. This was exactly when Bueckers was in her teenage years. The dynasty of Maya Moore, Sylvia Fowles, and Seimone Augustus led the side to four championships.

Dallas Wings Eye Fresh New Chapter with Paige Bueckers

Dallas Wings have high ambitions for the new season. Their performances in recent seasons haven’t met expectations. However, landing the Draft lottery pick, Dallas Wings moved to select Paige Bueckers. They are now looking at a major turnaround, somewhat similar to the Indiana Fever.

Paige Bueckers featured in a pre-season game against Las Vegas Aces. She went on to score 10 points, shooting 4-7 from the field. Though, her side lost the friendly match by 78-112. Jackie Young from the Aces scored a game high 28 points. While on the Wings side, new signing Ja’Naiya Quinerly scored 16 points.

The spotlight on Friday will firmly be on the Bayou Barbie and the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas is already anticipating a full house. The Wings vs. Lynx game will be broadcasted on ION at 07:30 PM ET on Friday.
