Ahead of the NBA Christmas Day action, Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant and Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry sat down for an interview and discussed their stories from the league.
When the conversation was going on, they brought up the topic of a famous rivalry between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. Both teams had a great domination in the NBA during the 2010s. LeBron James was playing for the Caves and Kevin Durant was part of the Warriors.
The 40-year-old Lakers superstar had an interesting comparison for the defining rivalry of his career. Cavaliers and Warriors featured in four consecutive matchups in the NBA Finals from 2015 to 2018. Steph Curry’s Warriors emerged victorious three times.

Ahead of another showdown with Golden State, LeBron James compared the heaviest battle between the Caves and Warriors to “a rap beef.”
“Those four straight years, Cleveland versus Golden State. It was literally like East Coast vs. West Coast. It was like a rap beef. Golden State on the West Coast and the Cavs on the East Coast. It was like a rap beef,” James said laughing.
Who can forget the iconic matchup between the Cavaliers and Warriors on Christmas Day 2016? It was rematch of NBA Finals and Warriors defeated LeBron’s Caves 109-108. The King scored a team-high 31 points. Kevin Durant led Warriors with 36 points and Steph Curry managed only 15 points.
LeBron James and Stephen Curry will be rivals on Christmas Day in a highly anticipated clash between the Lakers and the Warriors. Kevin Durant will play for the Suns against the Nuggets in the final game of the day. All three superstars recently won the gold medal at Paris Olympics 2024 and will part of NBA’s “Jingle Hoops.”
