Las Vegas Aces Outlast Indiana Fever 107–98 in Overtime to Reach WNBA Finals

The Las Vegas Aces are heading back to the WNBA Finals, but it took every ounce of effort to get there. Behind a dominant 35‑point performance from MVP A’ja Wilson and 32 more from Jackie Young, the Aces outlasted the Indiana Fever 107‑98 in overtime Tuesday night to win their semifinal series 3–2.

The victory sends Las Vegas to its third Finals in four years, where they will face the Phoenix Mercury starting Friday. For the Fever, it was a heartbreaking end to a remarkable run that saw them push the defending champions to the brink despite being ravaged by injuries.

A’ja Wilson and Young Carry the Load

A’ja Wilson, who was officially crowned the league’s first four‑time MVP earlier this week, showed exactly why. She poured in 35 points on efficient shooting, added eight rebounds, five assists, and was a force defensively with four blocks and four steals.

Jackie Young matched her intensity, scoring 32 points and grabbing 4 rebounds, repeatedly hitting big shots to keep Indiana at bay. Chelsea Gray chipped in 17 points and six assists, giving Las Vegas the steady hand it needed in crunch time.

Fever Fight Until the End

Indiana Fever’s resilience defined the series, and Game 5 was no different. Already without Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, the Fever lost star guard Kelsey Mitchell in the third quarter to a left leg injury after she had scored a team‑high 15 points.

Odyssey Sims erupted for 27 points, Natasha Howard added 16, and Aliyah Boston battled her way to 11 points and 16 rebounds. Six Fever players finished in double figures, and they erased a late deficit to force overtime when Sims’ floater tied the game in the final seconds of regulation.

“They just wouldn’t go away,” Wilson said afterward. “That’s a tough team, and they made us earn every single possession.” The Aces now turn their attention to the Finals against Phoenix, a matchup that pits A’ja Wilson against Alyssa Thomas in what promises to be an exciting frontcourt battle. Game 1 tips off Friday night in Las Vegas.
