LaMelo Ball Injury: Latest update on Charlotte Hornets’s star ankle injury

LaMelo Ball left the game in the second quarter against Lakers on Monday with a left ankle sprain and did not return.

The Charlotte Hornets’ already tough evening at home against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday took a turn for the worse as star guard LaMelo Ball suffered an injury during their 112-107 defeat.

Ball left the game in the second quarter with a left ankle sprain and did not return. The injury happened after he hit a 3-pointer and was backpedaling on defense when he twisted his left ankle.

LaMelo’s absence turned out to be a big setback for the hosts who couldn’t spark a comeback. Anthony Davis was unstoppable for the Lakers, scoring 42 points and grabbing 23 rebounds.

Ball, who has been the bright spot for the Hornets this season, played just 9 minutes, scoring 7 points before the injury setback. Despite Charlotte’s rough season (12-32), the 23-year-old has been averaging 28.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game.
