Los Angeles are now seeking the higher seed and this game would be crucial for them.

On the flip side, the Rockets are having their best season and they have locked second seed in the Western Conference. During their final sprint of the regular season, they have defeated the top teams of the West and have already crossed the 50-win mark. Ahead of the playoffs, Houston will get an opportunity to play against the Lakers, who could be rivals in the conference semifinals or finals.

LeBron James, who was part of the Lakers’ road win against the Mavs on Wednesday, has been listed as probable against the Rockets. Due to the playoffs, JJ Redick could rest James on Friday if they feel he needs an extra day of recovery for his groin strain.

Apart from LeBron James, Maxi Kleber’s status remains the same and he will be out from Friday’s contest due to a knee injury.

Jabari Smith Jr. is dealing with left groin soreness, and he’ll likely be a game-time decision. Fred VanVleet is also questionable on the injury report due to an ankle injury. Jae’Sean Tate (right ankle soreness) remains out from Friday’s contest.
