Bradley Beal played only six games with the LA Clippers.
Bradley Beal’s Season with Clippers Ends in Six Games. The star guard is required to undergo a season-ending injury for a fracture in his hip. He is expected to make a full recovery in six to nine months. Beal played only six games in Los Angeles after the Clippers acquired him in an NBA offseason deal worth $11 million after two years of his contract were bought out by the Phoenix Suns.
Notably, Beal was listed as questionable for Monday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks due to left hip soreness. He had already missed time with a back injury he sustained in the Clippers’ home opener against the Phoenix Suns. However, the specifics of the hip injury were unknown and it is unclear as to when the injury occurred.

According to Beal’s team, the three-time All-Star decided to agree to the surgery after discussing it with multiple doctors and specialists. “We met with numerous doctors and specialists around the country in collaboration with the entire Clippers medical staff over the last few days, and came to the decision unanimously that the surgery will allow Brad to have a full and complete recovery,” his agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPN.
Bradley Beal will end his 2025-26 campaign with an average of 8.2 points and 1.7 assists per game along with 37.5% on shooting from the field. This is the least number of games he has played in a season throughout his 14-year-long career in the league. However, he hasn’t played 60 games in a season since the 2020-21 campaign when he was a part of the Washington Wizards.
There is no doubt that Bradley Beal’s season-ending injury update has left the Clippers and fans shocked. Even as per Lawrence Frank, Beal feels that he has let the Clippers down, but is it really so? When he left the Suns, many believed that it could prove as a fresh start for him and would help him get in touch with his old self. However, the issues that kept bothering him in Phoenix followed him in Hollywood as well.
He hasn’t been giving the Clippers anything offensively, and is constantly beaten off the dribble. Beal has shown little or no physical effort in closeouts. He has been one of the biggest reasons for the poor defensive ratings of the Clippers. Not only this, but Beal has poor efficiency and decision making. When he is on the floor, the Clippers have the worst defensive rating (128.5). However, the number improves to 113.8 when he is out.
Moreover, if we look back at the deal, the Clippers have invested far less into him, considering an $11 million contract over two years is almost a nothing sort of a deal. So far, Beal has proven to be a liability on the Clippers. Hence, the franchise is expected to not miss out on something major when he sits out.
