The New York Knicks’ journey in the NBA Playoffs has come to an end this season as Indiana have successfully eliminated them. The Knicks vs. Pacers was one of the most awaited series among the NBA fans, and it lived up to its expectations.

New York, who forced a Game 6, were believed to have gained some momentum. However, the Pacers with the series lead and home court advantage still had the upper hand coming into the game 6. The game opened evenly, with both teams trading baskets in a tight first quarter.

The first quarter score was 25-24 in favor of the home side. Both the teams fiercely went at it again in the second quarter. The pacers again led the quarter but by a thin margin of 33-30. At the end of the half-time, the distance between the two sides was just four points.

Third Quarter Dominance Ends Knicks’ Hopes

The Indiana Pacers entered the second half with renowned belief and purpose. They took over the game, reducing mistakes and going on a scoring run. On the other side, the New York Knicks showed signs of struggle. With each point, the Gainbridge Fieldhouse erupted in cheers for the Pacers.

The home team took a big lead for the first time in the Knicks vs. Pacers game 6. Indiana outscored New York 34–23 in the third quarter, creating a decisive gap. The Knicks sabotaged their comeback hopes with a disastrous third quarter performance, undoing not only their previous quarter efforts but also effectively their overall series’ efforts.

The Knicks refined their performance in the last 12 minutes of the game, but even that looked too late. Eventually, the Indiana Pacers sealed the game by 125-108 and won the Eastern Conference Finals by 4-2. They will now face OKC Thunder in the NBA Finals next week.
