Kevin De Bruyne and Rasmus Hojlund Fire Napoli to Victory Against Fiorentina

Napoli continued their impressive start to the Serie A campaign with a commanding 3-1 win over Fiorentina. The Italian champions’ victory was led by goals from Kevin De Bruyne and debutant Rasmus Hojlund. The result lifted Antonio Conte’s men back to the top of the table on goal difference, just days before their Champions League clash with Manchester City.

The visitors wasted no time asserting themselves at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Signed on a free transfer from Manchester City, De Bruyne has already proved indispensable in Naples. The Belgian calmly converted a sixth-minute penalty after Frank Anguissa was fouled in the box. Rasmus Hojlund Scores on Debut

Just eight minutes later, Napoli doubled their advantage through Hojlund, who marked his debut in style. The 22-year-old striker, on loan from Manchester United, latched onto a clever through ball from Leonardo Spinazzola before slotting past former United keeper David de Gea with composure.

In the second half, Dutch defender Sam Beukema added a third, capitalizing on Fiorentina’s failure to clear a corner to all but seal the points for the champions. Fiorentina did manage a consolation when Luca Ranieri struck from close range in the 79th minute. The hosts threatened to make a comeback late on but Napoli keeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic repelled their attacks with a string of late saves.

The victory was a show of the strength of Conte’s new-look Napoli, who appear well-equipped to defend their Serie A title this season. With De Bruyne pulling the strings and Hojlund hitting the ground running, the Italian champions will head into their Champions League clash against Manchester City brimming with confidence.
