Kasparas Jakucionis made headlines when he was selected by the Miami Heat as the No. 20 pick in the 2025 NBA draft. Top teams were keen to take him for the season 2025-26. Jakucionis is a former Illinois Fighting Illini guard, who averaged 15.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists. He led his team in points and assists per game in 2024/25 season. During his debut collegiate season, Jakucionis registered 13 assists in a single game which is a record in Illinois’ history. The former Illinois guard recorded a season-high six three-pointers and seven assists in his Big Ten debut against the Wildcats. Before playing for the Barcelona, the European basketball team, Jakucionis averaged 19.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Jakucionis has also appeared in two Spanish League games and made his EuroLeague debut.
