What pick will Kam Jones be in the 2025 NBA Draft?

Kameron, or Kam Jones, is a former Marquette Golden Eagles guard who is set to enter the 2025 NBA Draft. A Memphis, Tennessee-born, Jones began his basketball journey at Evangelical Christian School. During his sophomore season, he averaged 14.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. Not only this, but he also made it to the All-District team on the back of his performance.

His performance went up to an average of 19.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game during his junior year. In addition, Jones also received the Tennessee Mr. Basketball (Division II A).

After committing to play for Marquette, the 23-year-old started in seven of his 31 games as a freshman. Following the conclusion of the season, he received the Big East All-Rookie Team honors. After becoming a full-time starter during his sophomore season, Jones averaged 15.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. He was shooting 46/36/66, which earned him a spot on the All-Big East Second Team. 

After finishing his junior season with the stats of 17.2 ppg, 2.9 rpg, and 2.4 apg, Jones’ stats went up to 19.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg, and 5.9 apg in 33.8 minutes. 

Kameron Jones Scouting Report- Strengths and Weaknesses 

Strengths

  • Jones has impressive moves and shooting skills. He knows how to pull up from deep and run off screens. His ball-handling skills make him efficient in executing crossovers, spins, dribble moves as well as skills to generate shots all over the court. 
  • He is selfless at scoring. In addition, he has splendid rim-finishing skills, with the usage of either hand. 
  • Jones has made 38.1% of shots from threes in his four collegiate seasons combined. Not only this, but he has also displayed deep range and skills to shoot off screens. 
  • He has time and again impressed everyone with his defensive skills. Not only this, but he is also on the go and has a strong frame which he uses to apply pressure on other players handling the ball. 

Weaknesses

  • Jones is a good athlete, but he could not be called a great one. He lacks explosiveness and quickness on the court. 
  • His shooting volume remains questionable. 
  • The Memphis native is considered a secondary playmaker. While he runs offense well, Jones isn’t a true primary creator.

Kam Jones averaged 7.4 points per game in his freshman season at Marquette. In his sophomore season, he averaged 15.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per contest. His junior season stats were 17.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. 

  • Jones earned Big East All-Freshman Team honors after his first season. 
  • In his sophomore season, he was named to the Second Team All-Big East. 
  • He helped Marquette reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. 

Kam Jones NBA 2025 Draft Projection

Earlier, Jones was projected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. However, now his projections range all the way to No. 49 in the second round of the two-day NBA event.
