Kain Medrano 40-Time Leads the Linebackers at 2025 NFL Scouting Combine on Day 1

Kain Medrano, the UCLA Bruins linebacker, was the highlight amongst the linebackers that featured on the Day 1 of the NFL Scouting Combine. The Bruins’ linebacker was a three-star recruit coming out of East High School, Colorado, and chose UCLA over other programs such as Wyoming, and Colorado State, to name a few. Medrano played college football for 6 years before declaring for the 2025 NFL draft.

In his 6 years with the Bruins, Medrano tallied a total of 195 tackles (123 solo, and 72 assisted tackles), 22 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, and 5 forced fumbles. He improved his numbers every season that he played and in 2024, Medrano had his best season due to which he was selected to the Third-team All-Big Ten.

Kane Medrano was the Fastest amongst LBs in Day 1 of the Combine

At the 2025 NFL Combine, Kane Medrano clocked his 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds, which was the fastest amongst Linebackers. The 6 foot 3 LB from UCLA, narrowly won over LB, Eugene Asante, who finished his 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds. These two players were the only ones amongst LBs to finish under 4.50 seconds in Day one of the 2025 Combine.

Apart from Medrano and Asante, other LBs such as Jihaad Campbell and Danny Stutsman were tied for the third place with 4.52 seconds. Nick Martin and Collin Oliver clocked their 40-yard dash in 4.53 and 4.56 seconds respectively, earning Martin the fifth place, and Oliver the sixth.

We had another tie for the 7th place amongst Smael Mondon Jr., Demetrius Knight Jr., and Carson Bruener, who all posted their 40-yard dash in 4.58 seconds.
