Joan Beringer, the French center for Cedevita Olimpija, had emerged as one of the most interesting prospects in the 2025 NBA Draft and was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 17th pick. The 18-year-old played for Strasbourg in the French U21 league last season but later, moved to Slovenia where he raised his level for KK Cedevita. The Frenchman averaged 4.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in EuroCup and 4.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in the ABA. He also represented France in the 2023 FIBA U18 European Championship.

Beringer was on the radar of the European scouts and now, top NBA teams like Spurs are looking to get him as per reports. The 18-year-old could be the most intriguing defensive prospect in the 2025 NBA Draft. He has averaged 3.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks in 15.4 minutes per game for KK Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana this season. Beringer’s athleticism pushes him cover ground and he could improve certain things in the NBA.
