Jeremiah Fears will play for the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA 2025-26 season.
Jeremiah Fears was picked as the seventh overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft by the New Orleans Pelicans. The former Oklahoma Sooners’ freshman guard began his basketball journey at Joliet West High School in Joliet as a sophomore. However, he moved to AZ Compass Prep for his junior year, where he led his team charts with an average of 14.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 2.5 steals. While playing at the Nike Peach Jam Tournament, Fears averaged 21.2 points while shooting 38% from the three-point range in five games.
A consensus four-star prospect, Fears was tabbed as a top-25 guard in the 2025 ESPN 100. He got offers from Illinois, Providence, Kansas, Michigan, and Ole Miss, and while he committed to play for Illinois, Fears later joined Oklahoma. In his collegiate career, Fears emerged as an effective ball handler and a stand-out scorer. He finished the season with an average of 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.

Jeremiah Fears was born on October 14, 2006, to Jeremy Fears Sr. and Sekia. He has three siblings- Jeremy Jr., Jammari and Skylar. Jeremy Fears Jr. is also a basketball player, who plays for Michigan State. Jamarri is a point guard at Romeoville High School in Illinois.
Jeremiah Fears’ father goes by the name of Jeremy Fears Sr. and Sekia. His father is a former collegiate basketball player who played for Ohio University and secured Mid-American Conference (MAC) All-Freshman honors in 2005. He averaged 10.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game in 51 games. He was later transferred to the Beavers in 2006, but didn’t play in any games.
Jeremiah Fears’ mother goes by the name of Sekia. However, not much is known about her in the public domain.
