Jayden Reed's injury is a big concern for the Packers who are already without Christian Watson!
Week 2 got off to a phenomenal start with Thursday Night Football (TNF) pitting the Green Bay Packers against the Washington Commanders. The Packers got off to a quick start on offense in their second home game of the year, while the defense applied continuous pressure to Jayden Daniels and the Commanders.
However, Green Bay suffered a key loss to its wide receiver room following the collarbone injury sustained by Jayden Reed during the first possession of the game.
Green Bay was marching down the field exceptionally during its first drive, but that is also when the Packers lost a key piece of their offensive unit. Wide receiver Jayden Reed hauled in a superb 39-yard touchdown reception, which was discarded immediately following an offensive holding penalty.
However, on that catch, Reed landed hard on the ground and did not get up until trainers checked on him. He was later seen walking back to the locker room in visible pain and with his right arm hanging by his side.

Initially, after the injury took place during the game against the Commanders, Reed was questionable to return in the game, but was later ruled out completely.
Following the game, head coach Matt LaFleur provided an update on Jayden Reed’s injury, confirming that the wideout suffered a broken collarbone and that he is due to miss “a lot of time.”
Reed had already been playing through a foot injury, one he sustained prior to the start of the season. Suffering from a Jones fracture, the third-year receiver decided to avoid or delay surgery for the same at least until the offseason.
Now, though, the broken collarbone means he is set to miss multiple weeks of action, but the Packers would be hoping that he could make a return late in the season.

First and foremost, the Packers are already without key wideout Christian Watson, who is recovering from a torn ACL. Since Green Bay doesn’t have an out-and-out WR1, all their receivers are significant contributors to the team’s offense.
Last season, Reed finished with over 850 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns, while he was also a contributing factor in the Packers’ week 1 win over the Lions with 45 receiving yards and a touchdown.
A lot would now rest on the young shoulders of rookie first-round pick Matthew Golden, as well as others such as Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, and even tight end Tucker Kraft, who had a sensational game against Washington yesterday.
