Jannik Sinner vs. Alex de Minaur Head-to-Head, Preview, Prediction, and Betting Odds for ATP Vienna Open 2025 Semifinals

Sinner and de Minaur set for high-stakes 2025 Vienna Open semifinal clash

Top seed Jannik Sinner is set to face third seed Alex de Minaur in the Vienna Open 2025 semifinals. The Australian has been in commanding form, dispatching Jorij Rodionov, Filip Misolic, and Matteo Berrettini, all in straight sets. Sinner, meanwhile, has been as dominant as ever, not dropping a set against Daniel Altmaier, Flavio Cobolli, and eighth seed Alexander Bublik.

Sinner’s 2025 season has been absolutely exceptional. He held the world No. 1 ranking for much of the season before Carlos Alcaraz overtook him at the US Open. The Italian captured titles in Melbourne (over Alexander Zverev), Wimbledon (over Alcaraz), and Beijing (over Learner Tien), while also reaching finals in Rome, Roland Garros, Cincinnati, and the US Open. His season has had setbacks, including retirements in Cincinnati and Shanghai and a three-month absence due to a doping violation. Statistically, Sinner has delivered 310 aces, won 79% of first-serve points, and converted 45% of 444 break-point opportunities.

De Minaur has also enjoyed a solid season too. Earlier in the year, he won Washington, made the Rotterdam final, and reached the Monte Carlo and Beijing semifinals, along with quarterfinal runs in Melbourne, Doha, Barcelona, Toronto, the US Open and most recently, Shanghai. In the latter, he was ousted by Daniil Medvedev. Though his season also includes a few early exits and hasn’t been flawless. He has accumulated 253 aces, won 74% of first-serve points, and converted 43% of 536 break-point opportunities.

Jannik Sinner vs. Alex de Minaur Head-to-Head Record

Jannik Sinner holds a dominant 11-0 head-to-head record against Alex de Minaur. Their first meeting came at the 2019 Next Gen ATP Finals, where Sinner cruised to a straight-sets victory. In the 2023 Paris Masters, Sinner was forced to withdraw due to fatigue, giving de Minaur the win, but this match does not count in the official head-to-head since Sinner pulled out before play began. This season, the duo have faced off in Melbourne and Beijing, with Sinner emerging victorious on both occasions.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
