Sankalp Harikrishnan

Chapter-14 of the most titanic rivalry in the sport.

In another chapter of the biggest rivalry in men’s tennis, World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will defend his title against second seed Carlos Alcaraz in the 2025 Cincinnati Open final. Monday’s summit clash is set to be the 14th meeting between these two superstars. Can Alcaraz dethrone the current king of Cincinnati and exact revenge for the Wimbledon final? We will analyze all the stats and odds today, with the help of BetMGM.

Carlos Alcaraz will contest his seventh consecutive tour-level final on Monday. The 22-year-old Spaniard is in the form of his life – winning five titles and two runner-up trophies this year. Currently ranked No. 2 in the world, Alcaraz is on a 53-6 run this year. The five-time Grand Slam champion reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, won Roland Garros and finished runner-up at Wimbledon so far. He has beaten Dzumhur, Medjedovic, Nardi, Rublev and Zverev en route to the final.

Jannik Sinner is on a 12-match unbeaten run. The top seed in Cincinnati has reached the finals in his last eight big tournaments. Having won the Australian Open and Wimbledon, and being just one point away from capturing the Roland Garros crown, the 24-year-old is arguably the man to beat on tour. He has a 91% success rate in tour-level events in 2025 – and two titles to show for it. Sinner’s path to the summit clash included wins over Galan, Diallo, Mannarino, Auger-Aliassime and Atmane.

Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz Head to Head Record

Alcaraz leads the head-to-head against Sinner by 8-5. However, the Italian powerhouse won their most recent encounter at Wimbledon 2025.

Sinner and Alcaraz have battled it out five times at the Grand Slam level and five times in Masters-1000s. The Cincinnati Open final is set to be the sixth time they meet in a final. Sinner’s victory in the Wimbledon title decider ended a five-match winning streak for the Spanish bull. Prior to the upcoming contest, the Sinner-Alcaraz duel has been staged four times on American soil.

Jannik Sinner vs Carlos Alcaraz ATP Cincinnati Open 2025 Prediction

Yet to drop a set all week, Sinner’s time on court is considerably lower in comparison to Alcaraz. The Italian has been serving brilliantly, and his baseline game is second to none. Alcaraz will hope to have a better outing on serve after the disaster at Wimbledon. He will mix things up with drop shots and high net clearances. However, we are predicting the World No. 1 to produce an attacking masterclass to outlast Alcaraz in the final.

Prediction: Jannik Sinner in three sets.
