Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz are defying glory in the Masters event. The duo made a statement in men’s singles by reaching the semifinals at Cincinnati Masters. With their quarterfinals wins on Friday, both players made a record which proved they are miles ahead of their contemporaries.

Jannik Sinner-Carlos Alcaraz Duo Sets New Record at Masters 1000 Event

Alcaraz and Sinner are only two players who born after 1990 and have 15 straight wins at Masters 100 events. Every time they step up on the court, create history. This year belongs to these two and three of the two Grand Slam finals were also played between these two. It shows they are the future superstars of tennis who can take the legacy ahead.

Carlos Alcaraz defeated Andrey Rublev 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 in the quarterfinals to set a semifinal clash with third-seeded Alexander Zverev. It was a tense victory for the Spaniard, who dropped the second set 4-6. In third set, Carlos was serving for victory at 5-4 against Rublev, and denied a tiebreak chance to his opponent.

Alcaraz is the the 2023 runner-up in Cincinnati and he earned his 15th consecutive Masters 1000 win after winning this year in Monte Carlo and Rome. He has posted a 37-2 record since April and his only loss came in Barcelona Open final and Wimbledon final. He has bagged five titles so far in 2025, including Roland Garros.

On the other hand, Jannik Sinner is on a different journey as he played all three Grand Slam finals this year. The world No. 1 beat Félix Auger-Aliassime 6-0, 6-2 in the Cincinnati Open quarter-finals. It was his 25th straight hard-court victory. During the run, the 24-year-old won the US Open, Australian Open and Cincinnati Masters title.

Sinner had a remarkable year as he won two Grand Slam titles this year. The Italian ace wrapped up the contest with runs of six games in a row and match lasted for 71 minutes. The 24-year-old won the Cincinnati Open last year and he is on the way to defend the title. Now, all the eyes on one more Sinner-Alcaraz final if the duo manages to win their respective semifinals.
