Milwaukee coach Doc Rivers talked about Damian Lillard’s injury after his team’s 129-103 loss against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. Lillard suffered a non-contact injury midway through the opening quarter when Indiana had a 15-12 lead. The All-Star guard limped to the locker room and didn’t return to the game.

The Milwaukee Bucks are one loss away from facing first-round elimination in the NBA playoffs, and they will play without their key player in Game 5.

Milwaukee Head Coach Doc Rivers shared his thoughts on Damian Lillard’s injury, and he is not optimistic about Lillard’s status. Doc told reporters that Lillard is going to get imaging done tomorrow.
“They going to do an image tomorrow,” Rivers told reporters after the game. “Obviously it’s lower leg, and just being honest, it’s not very promising.”

Lillard crumpled to the floor after tapping the ball to Gary Trent Jr for an offensive rebound in the first quarter. He sat on the other end of the floor and struggled to walk. Kyle Kuzma and Rivers helped him to reach the locker room. He didn’t put extra load on his left foot and limped to the locker room on his right foot.
“I knew it right away,” Rivers continued. “I felt bad for him, you know, the guy tried to come back for his team and, you know, I just felt bad for him.”

“My job over the next 48 hours or whatever we have is to get us upright again, try to win one game in Indiana and get it back here,” Rivers said. “But my brain right now is right where the same place the players are, and that’s thinking about Dame. That’s really the human part of this job that is no fun.”
Lillard recently made a comeback from injury when he appeared in Game 2, but the injury potentially ended his season for the Bucks. The 34-year-old averaged 10.5 points, 6.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game in the playoffs. He had two assists and two rebounds before leaving the court, going 0-for-2 from the field.
