Is Chris Godwin Playing Today? All About Bucaneers Chris Godwin’s Availability for Week 4 Game Against the Eagles

Eric Divakaran

In a high-stakes NFC showdown at Raymond James Stadium, the undefeated Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-0) host the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles (3-0) in Week 4, marking the only clash of unbeaten teams this weekend. Both squads boast explosive offenses, with Tampa’s rushing attack poised to test Philly’s run defense, bolstered by Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis.

Baker Mayfield’s late-game heroics have fueled the Bucs’ first 3-0 start since 2005, but injuries may hamper their chances in this game. WR Mike Evans is sideline with a hamstring issue, and even their QB Baker Mayfield is questionable with the Bucs winning streak on the line.

The Eagles, on the other hand, riding a 3-0 start for this season, aim to exploit Tampa’s secondary with A.J. Brown’s deep threats and Saquon Barkley’s ground game. Philly’s defense, though not perfect, is starting to come around just like last season, which has forced key turnovers in these initial three weeks.

Their last game, a comeback win against the Rams, was their best performance thus far, proving that they are still the team to beat in the NFC, and the rest of the NFL. They are nearly at full strength, and could push their win streak to 4-0, if the Bucs are not fully healthy to take them on.

Is Chris Godwin Playing Today?

Wide receiver Chris Godwin has been out of action since 2024 and has spent all offseason rehabbing his ankle injury. He’s not played so far this season, but is listed as questionable for Week 4’s action against the Philadelphia Eagles.

While there is no guarantee for his availability, going into the Eagles game, Godwin is expected to play. Godwin was a full participant at practice on Wednesday, not participating on Thursday, but again was a full participant at Friday’s practice. While this could mean that he may play, we believe that it is going to be a game time decision.

What Does Chris Godwin’s Potential Availability Mean for the Bucs?

The Bucs have been gravely missing their key wideouts with Chris Godwin not playing so far this season, and Mike Evans out with a hamstring injury, with no specific timeline on his return. This would certainly help the Bucs’ offense, as they rank 22nd in the league in terms of passing offense, and their scoring, ranking 12th in the league.

Going against the Eagles, they’ll need every weapon they have as the Eagles have some of, if not, the toughest defenses in the league and are a threat to shut down even the best offenses on any given night.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
