Inter Miami vs. Atlanta United Team News and Injury Report

Atlanta are alive in the series after securing the second straight home win courtesy of a goal in stoppage time.

Inter Miami will host rejuvenated Atlanta United in the decider game of the MLS Cup playoffs. The Five Stripes overcame Miami in the second game of the series with a 2-1 win.

Tata Martino’s troops are unbeaten in the last nine home matches going into the decider. Inter Miami have to break the jinx of not crossing the opening round of the MLS Cup playoffs.

Meanwhile, Atlanta are alive in the series after securing the second straight home win courtesy of a goal in stoppage time. Rob Valentino would aim to become the first Atlanta manager since Frank de Boer to reach the next round of the playoffs.

Inter Miami Team News and Predicted Lineup

Inter Miami have to step up in the decider without Ian Fray who is still in the recovery zone from a meniscus injury. The Herons will also miss Facundo Farias and Nicolas Freire due to an ACL injury. Tata Martino is not sure about the comeback of Sergio Busquets. The Spanish midfielder had an injury during the training and missed out the trip to Atlanta last week.

As far as the injury list goes, Miami would be without Leo Afonso, David Ruiz and Oscar Ustari for their game against Atlanta.

Possible Lineups: Callender; Aviles, Allen, Martinez; Weigandt, Rojas, Redondo, Alba; Messi, Suarez, Gomez

Atlanta United Team News and Predicted Lineup

Atlanta will assess the fitness of Stian Rode Gregersen who is recovering from a hamstring strain. The Norwegian defender was on the bench last weekend. Their injury list is also bigger ahead of the decider. Brooks Lennon remains out due to a dislocated shoulder.

The Five Stripes will also monitor the fitness of goalkeeper Quentin Westberg who is recovering from a head injury. Last weekend’s absentee Edwin Mosquera hasn’t recovered from the knee injury. Last game’s winning goal-scorer Xande Silva will find a place in the starting XI ahead of Ajani Fortune.
