NBA Finals 2025: Indianapolis Crowd Erupts Into Chants After Obi Toppin Picks Technical and Flagrant Foul in Game 4

Obi Toppin received a flagrant foul 1 and technical in second quarter of Game 4.

The crowd at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis erupted into the chants of “Obi, Obi” after the Pacers’ forward Obi Toppin picked a technical and a flagrant foul. The Oklahoma City Thunder visited Indy for Game 4 of the NBA Finals 2025 on Friday, June 13. In the second quarter of the game, Toppin picked a technical foul as well as a Flagrant Foul Penalty 1 after his foul on the Thunder’s Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein.

With 5:48 remaining in the second quarter, the Thunder guard stole the ball and had a clear way to the basket. However, Toppin chased him down and interrupted his layup attempt and knocked him down. The incident angered Hartenstein and he ended up shoving Thunder under the basket, to which Toppin responded by shoving him back. Though things didn’t escalate as the rest of the players and the referees quickly intervened, both the players were called for technicals.

Not only this, but Toppin’s foul was also upgraded to a Flagrant 1. Following the incident, the crowd present at the arena erupted into “Obi, Obi” chants.

Tyrese Haliburton Shares Heartwarming Moment With Obi Toppin’s Daughter Before Game 4

Before the tip off of Game 4 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Toppin’s daughter shared an adorable moment with the Pacers’ guard Tyrese Haliburton. As the two-time NBA All-Star walked to the court for the warm up, Toppin’s daughter, Remi, came running to him, and the two shared a hug. Moments before the game, Haliburton said courtside, “She is always around. I’m just lucky her dad’s on the team.”

Notably, Toppin and Haliburton have been teammates since 2023 when the former was traded from the New York Knicks. The two have built real chemistry since then on the court. Talking about Toppin’s performance in the ongoing season, the 27-year-old averaged 10.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. In the postseason, he recorded an average of 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest.
