Can Swiatek overcome Yuan and the Chinese fans to advance in Beijing?
After her recent success in Seoul, top seed Iga Swiatek returns to Beijing for the 2025 China Open. She will face home favorite Yue Yuan in the Round of 64 on Saturday, with the winner taking on either Anna Kalinskaya or Camila Osorio in Round-3. This will be the first career meeting between these two players on the WTA Tour. Follow BetMGM to keep up with all the betting odds for the 2025 China Open.
World No. 2 Iga Swiatek is hunting down the year-end top ranking on the WTA circuit. She is currently in a race to the finish line against Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff. The 24-year-old Pole has won three trophies this year – at Wimbledon, Cincinnati and Seoul. She also reached the final in Bad Homburg, and made five other semifinals. One of her most impressive traits is her consistency – the six-time Grand Slam champion has won 46% return games this year and managed to save 58% break points on serve.

Chinese sensation Yue Yuan won her one and only tour-level title in Austin last year. The 27-year-old is a fierce striker of the ball, and her record of 17-22 in 2025 does not do justice to her ability. Yuan began the year by reaching the pre-quarterfinals in Brisbane, after which she went through a major slump. She made a comeback with a quarterfinal showing at the Libema Open, but failed to consolidate during the grass court campaign. The World No. 110 defeated Putintseva 6-3 6-3 in Round-1.
What a way to seal it 🤩

Swiatek is looking like an unstoppable force at the moment. She played an extraordinary match to pull off a comeback in the Seoul final, and will be keen on maintaining the momentum. The Polish superstar is getting some extra revs on her serve and forehand, and the backhand has been flattened out to improve her power game. Yuan will look to build on the support from her home fans in China, but it will take a monumental performance of gigantic proportions to complete an upset.
Prediction: Iga Swiatek in straight sets.
Swiatek (1/20) is a heavy favorite to advance to the Round of 32 against the underdog Yuan (19/2) at the China Open 2025. According to the implied probability on the money line, the Pole has a winning ratio of 89% at the moment. Take a look at all the important odds (as per BetMGM):
