Second career meeting between the two young guns of the WTA.
World No. 2 Iga Swiatek will aim to guide Poland into the 2026 United Cup semifinals, as she takes on home favorite Aussie Maya Joint on Friday. The Pole is the firm favorite to emerge victorious in this clash, with the pre-match market heavily on her side. Both players have looked in fine touch this week, and are set to kick off proceedings at the Ken Rosewall Arena. The winner of this fixture will battle Coco Gauff and Team USA in the semifinal stage.
Having finished as the runners-up over the past two editions, Poland is chasing United Cup glory this time around. Swiatek is the World No. 2 on the women’s circuit, and the highest ranked player at the event. After finishing 2025 with a record of 64-17 and a success rate of 79%, the six-time Grand Slam champion has proven to fans around the world that the sky is the limit. At the age of 24, she has already captured 25 titles and an Olympic bronze medal.

Maya Joint burst onto the scene in the middle of last year, when she won two trophies in two months at Rabat and Eastbourne. The 19-year-old Michigan-born Australian is currently on a career-high ranking of No. 32 in the world. After a disappointing North American hard court swing, Joint struck form by reaching two semifinals in Asia to close out the year. The young gun is the highest ranked woman from her country at the moment.

According to the tennis betting odds, Iga Swiatek has odds of -2000 ahead of this match-up (via BetMGM). Maya Joint trails her with underdog odds of +950 (via BetMGM). Here’s how we are betting on the Iga Swiatek vs Maya Joint encounter at the 2026 United Cup, including our best bets, supporting odds and a set-score prop for bigger prices.
Given below are the latest odds for Iga Swiatek vs Maya Joint from the top sportsbooks. We are looking at the match money line, game handicap and total games, plus some set betting markets where available.
| Market | BetMGM | FanDuel |
| Moneyline | Swiatek (-2000), Joint (+950) | Swiatek (-3500), Joint (+1550) |
| Game Handicap | Swiatek -7.5 (+120), Joint +7.5 (-155) | Swiatek -7.5 (+106), Joint +7.5 (-140) |
| Total Games | >17.5 (-105), <17.5 (-122) | >17.5 (-106), <17.5 (-126) |
| Set Betting | Swiatek 2-0 (-480) | Swiatek 2-0 (-500) |
Our Pick: Total Games <17.5 @ -122
In a game where one player is expected to do all the heavy hitting, the best bet becomes more about minimizing the damage. This is why a bet of total games in the match being less than 17.5 at -122 seems to be a plausible option. Swiatek has regained her footing this week, and will be determined to carry her nation into the semifinal stage. Moreover, she dropped just two games against Joint in Seoul last year.
“I feel like after the first few games I improved my level, and I was more precise with my footwork,” Swiatek said after her last win against Suzan Lamens. “I think it was an improvement compared to the last match.” If this is anything to go by, the Pole will only get better as the tournament goes on. After being broken seven times against Eva Lys, the former World No. 1 adapted and recorded five holds to love with an 84% first serve success rate.
On the other hand, Joint is a clean ball striker who has been described by Coco Gauff as a “great talent.” However, the Australian will need to take the attack to Swiatek in order to potentially face Gauff in the semis. In the last year alone, the teenager earned impressive victories over former Grand Slam champions like Emma Raducanu and Sofia Kenin. While Swiatek remains very high on the pre-match win ratio statistics, do not count the hometown girl out just yet.
Swiatek has a narrow 1-0 lead in the head-to-head against Joint so far. The Polish sensation thrashed her teenage colleague in the semis of the Korea Open in Seoul en route to the championship in 2025.
