Swiatek stuns Wimbledon with a flawless 6-0, 6-0 win over Anisimova, claiming her first title at SW19.
Former No. 1 Iga Swiatek completed her long-awaited grass-court breakthrough in stunning fashion on Saturday, defeating Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 to win her first Wimbledon title and sixth Grand Slam overall. The dominant scoreline etched her name into history books as the first woman in the Open Era to win a Wimbledon final without dropping a single game.

The final was a showcase of total domination. Swiatek broke Anisimova in the opening game after two netted shots and a long forehand from the American. In just six minutes, the Polish star was up 2-0. Twenty-five minutes later, the first set was in the bag, 6-0.
Anisimova, who had put together an impressive run to her maiden Wimbledon final, was visibly rattled and unable to settle. Swiatek, by contrast, looked every bit elite, calm, clinical, and relentlessly aggressive. The second set unfolded just as brutally. Within minutes, it was 3-0, then 4-0, then 5-0. Swiatek earned a championship point, missed it, but sealed the title on the next one with a smooth backhand down the line.
And still…

With this win, Swiatek improved on her previous best Wimbledon result, a quarterfinal finish in 2023, and also extended a curious trend: for the eighth straight year, the reigning women’s champion failed to defend her title at SW19. This time, it was Barbora Krejcikova who exited early, falling to Emma Navarro in the third round.
Swiatek’s dominance showed in every facet of the match. Her first serve percentage stood at an impressive 82%, while Anisimova could only manage 51%. On the second serve, the gap widened further. Swiatek won 62% of her points, while Anisimova managed just 35%.

Anisimova failed to produce a single ace and was hampered by five double faults. She didn’t create a single breakpoint opportunity, while Swiatek converted six of nine chances. The American also racked up 23 unforced errors compared to Swiatek’s nine.
In total points, the gap was stark: Swiatek won 55, and Anisimova just 24. The longest streak of points won in a row was 13 by Swiatek. Anisimova’s best was only two.
This has only happened once before 🤯⏬

Iga Swiatek has beaten Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 to win Wimbledon – it's just the second time in the Open Era that a Grand Slam singles final has finished in a 'double bagel'.
The other was the 1988 French Open final. The only other… pic.twitter.com/JGo2bpADlX
This result also marks the first time since before the Open Era, over a century ago, that a 6-0, 6-0 scoreline has been recorded in a Wimbledon women’s final. It wasn’t just a win. It was a statement of supremacy from a player who has now conquered all surfaces and sits firmly atop the women’s game.
