Mavericks start fresh with young star
The Dallas Mavericks have endured a turbulent few months, swinging between highs and lows. Losing Luka Doncic was a blow to the roster but the management pulled it off amidst a major cry among the fans.
The following months went from bad to worse given the form of the side. Being a playoff favourite, the Dallas Mavericks dropped off big time in the second part of the season. Injuries also hurt their momentum, and the team ultimately missed out on postseason contention. However, the draft lottery gave their destiny another chance.

The Dallas Mavericks used their number 1 pick from the 2025 NBA Draft for Cooper Flagg. The 18-year-old was the talk of the town during the whole NCAA 2024-25 season. He shot 48.1% from the field and 38.5% from beyond the arc.
He had a field goal percentage of 48.1 percent and beyond the arch percentage of 38.5. Cooper Flagg’s arrival gives Dallas a much-needed boost as the team navigates an aging roster. Reports suggest GM Nico Harrison sees Cooper Flagg as the long-term centerpiece of the Mavericks’ roster rebuild.
