How many points did Joel Embiid score on his season debut? Full Stats

Paul George led the charge for Philadelphia with an impressive 29 points and 10 rebounds.

Joel Embiid made his much-anticipated season debut in the NBA Cup opener after missing the first nine regular-season games due to injury and suspension. However, Philadelphia 76ers fans were left disappointed with Embiid’s performance, as he struggled to find his rhythm on the court.

In his return, Joel Embiid contributed 13 points, five assists, and three rebounds, but his impact was limited as the Sixers lost to the New York Knicks by a final score of 111-99.

The team put up a strong effort but collapsed in the fourth quarter, allowing the Knicks to secure the victory.

Paul George led the charge for Philadelphia with an impressive 29 points and 10 rebounds. Jared McCain also made a significant contribution off the bench, scoring 23 points, while Caleb Martin added 17 points and four steals.

However, these efforts were not enough to overcome the Knicks, who shot 48.9% from the floor compared to the Sixers’ 37%.

Philadelphia 76ers were tipped as a serious contender in the East when Paul George joined forces with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. However, it has been the same old story for the Sixers who are languishing at 14th in the table with a 2-8 record.

The loss to the Knicks marks the Sixers’ ninth defeat of the season. Considering the injury histories of key players and Philadelphia’s stated intention to manage both George’s and Embiid’s minutes, mounting a comeback seems like a Herculean task for now.
