Bronny James led the Lakers in points and assists off the bench.

The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a 118-89 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks but their rookie player, Bronny James stole the show with a career-high performance. It was the sixth game in eight nights for the Lakers, who played without LeBron James and Luka Doncic. Austin Reaves also sat out with a sore ankle.

Bronny James got his longest runway of the season and the rookie guard stepped up for the Lakers with a career-high 17 points. The 20-year-old was on minutes restriction during an eight-game stretch where he shot 15-for-26 from the field.

Dalton Knecht scored 17 points and Gabe Vincent added 9 but couldn’t help in the offense as the duo shot 8-for-26. Milwaukee outscored Los Angeles 34-19 in the first quarter and Lakers didn’t recover through out the game.

James tallied 17 points, three rebounds, five assists, three turnovers and one block while shooting 7-for-10 from the floor and 2-for-4 from 3-point range. He led the Lakers in points and assists off the bench.

During the first half, James dropped an incredible full-court pass and it made headlines on social media. He had eight points, three rebounds and one assist while shooting 3/4 from the field in his first 12 minutes.

James averaged 1.6 points per contest while shooting 26.3% from the field and 22.7% from the three-point range before playing against the Bucks.
