It has been a topsy-turvy 2025 season for World No. 11 Holger Rune. After losing his first match of the year in Brisbane, he made four consecutive pre-quarterfinal appearances. The 22-year-old finished as the runner-up at Indian Wells, before beating Carlos Alcaraz to lift the Barcelona Open crown. Since then, Rune reached the last eight at Queen’s Club and Cincinnati, but failed to make an impact. This leaves him with a record of 29-18 this year – and an 82% success rate on service games.

The 27-year-old also entered the final four at the Chile Open, before making back-to-back quarterfinals in the Sunshine swing. Cerundolo earned valuable points with his semifinalist finishes at three clay court events.
