Dallas Wings’ guard Paige Bueckers was on fire against the Indiana Fever on Friday. Though her side came out as the losing ones, her individual performance was something that electrified the atmosphere at the American Airlines Center.

Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving sat courtside for the Fever vs. Wings game, drawing attention alongside the on-court matchup. Seeing her childhood idol courtside pushed Bueckers to elevate her game in front of a packed Dallas crowd.

Paige Bueckers went on to score 27 points and registered 6 assists. She was solely responsible for her side’s comeback in the second and third quarter of the game. Even her idol Kyrie Irving was star struck watching the Wings’ guard play.

In one instance in the fourth quarter, Bueckers hit a buzzer beater three and Kyrie could barely keep himself on the seat. Just like the buzzing crowd, Kyrie jumped to his feet, applauding Bueckers’ buzzer-beating brilliance on Friday night.

However, the Bueckers magic wasn’t enough for the Dallas Wings as they were just short against the Indiana Fever. The Caitlin Clark-less side beat the hosts by 94-86 in the end.

Paige Bueckers Lights It Up as Childhood Idol Kyrie Irving Watches On

Paige Bueckers was excited about Kyrie Irving’s presence at the American Airlines Center in Dallas for the Friday night game. She briefly spoke about it during the post match press conference.

She said, “It was pretty surreal that somebody who I looked up to and has been my favorite player since I was really, really young showed up to come out and support us, support women’s basketball. He’s been like a big brother figure to me.”

The two stars exchanged a warm postgame embrace, clearly sharing mutual admiration and a long-standing connection. With Paige Bueckers becoming a cornerstone of the Dallas based franchise, Kyrie Irving and Paige catching up is expected to be more frequent.
