“He makes my job easy”- NBA commissioner Adam Silver drops high praise for Stephen Curry

NBA commissioner Adam Silver opened up on Stephen Curry’s impact in NBA and for the younger generation.

Stephen Curry has successfully carved out his own legacy in the NBA, standing tall alongside veterans like LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Since joining the league in 2009, Curry has not only dazzled fans with his easy-on-the-eye playing style but has also played a key role in bringing the NBA to a global audience.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently opened up on Curry’s impact and how he has been an inspiration for the younger generation. During an interview on KNBR 680’s “Murph & Markus” show on Tuesday, Silver was asked about basketball in the Bay Area, where Curry has been the face of the Warriors’ dynasty.

“Most recently, I think championships,” Silver began, referencing the Warriors’ dominance in the last decade. “I think about the Chase Center and everything Joe Lacob and Peter Guber have done since taking over the organization. Of course, I’m always focused on Steph, who’s a commissioner’s dream.”

Silver went on to explain why Curry is so special.

“In addition to being an incredible player, just a pleasure to deal with and does amazing things in the community. So many positive stories have come out of your community over the years.”

He is so relatable as a player: Adam Silver on Stephen Curry

Curry’s influence extends far beyond the Bay Area. As the face of the Warriors, he has become one of the NBA’s top global ambassadors. Silver emphasized how Curry’s role in expanding the game is undeniable.

“[He] makes my job easy, honestly,” Silver said. “He travels in the offseason, he goes everywhere. I think he plays, most importantly, with real joy. In addition to the success he’s had, he’s so relatable as a player. I think a part, not suggesting he’s small, but he’s not a giant like a lot of NBA players, so I think kids really relate to him.”

Silver also credited Curry for inspiring younger generations, especially in women’s basketball.

“I actually think the growth we’ve seen in women’s basketball is directly connected to Steph, too, because he plays below the rim. He plays a very relatable style of basketball.”

Stephen Curry will be making his 11th All-Star appearance in front of his home crowd at Chase Center on February 16th.
