Flavio Cobolli vs. Jenson Brooksby Head-to-Head, Prediction and Betting Odds for US Open 2025 Round-2

Sankalp Harikrishnan

Winner to face Musetti or Goffin in Round-3.

Italian No. 3 Flavio Cobolli has already achieved his career-best finish at two Grand Slams in 2025. With a win on Thursday, the 23-year-old can match his best performance in New York as well. Cobolli is set to face 24-year-old American Jenson Brooksby in the US Open 2025 Second Round. One can expect a fierce encounter between two dangerous customers, and not much to separate them in the odds (according to BetMGM).

Flavio Cobolli vs Jenson Brooksby Match Preview

It was a narrow escape for the 24th seed in Round-1, as he scraped past fellow Italian Francesco Passaro in five thrilling sets. After an abysmal 0-7 start to his season, Flavio Cobolli announced himself by winning his first career title in Bucharest. He began to stack up the victories after this – capturing another trophy in Hamburg. Following two grass court QFs at Halle and Wimbledon, Cobolli endured a mediocre North American hard court swing. On hard courts this year, the World No. 26 has managed just 53% first serves in and 17% return games won.

On the other side of the net, Jenson Brooksby has been a name that has travelled across American shores for a while. A flashy 24-year-old attacker, he won his maiden ATP Tour championship in Houston and also finished as the runner-up at Eastbourne. With a win-loss ratio of 16-11 this year, Brooksby is gradually improving and making a name for himself. The former Top-35 sensation will be looking to improve on his Round of 16 performance at Flushing Meadows from 2021. In Round-1, he beat Aleksandar Vukic in five sets.

Flavio Cobolli vs Jenson Brooksby Head to Head Record

Jenson Brooksby has a 1-0 head-to-head record against Flavio Cobolli so far. They faced each other in the 2022 Rome Masters, where the American prevailed in straight sets.

Flavio Cobolli vs Jenson Brooksby US Open 2025 Prediction

This encounter could go one of two ways – it might turn into a slugfest where neither player misses; or it may be an error-filled slow paced battle. Do not count out the role of the crowd on Thursday – Brooksby will be massively boosted by the Americans on Court-17. In terms of tactics, Cobolli is likely to resort to a slightly flatter game as opposed to Brooksby who might offer a high net clearance. We sense that the encounter will go beyond three sets.

Prediction: Flavio Cobolli in five sets.
