Trae Young silenced New York Knicks fans with a stunning performance and scripted a 108-100 win in the NBA Cup quarterfinals. Atlanta’s point guard celebrated the win in style as his side confirmed the ticket to Las Vegas. Hawks will now take on Milwaukee Bucks in the semifinals on Saturday.

When the clock dwindled to zero, Trae Young showcased a celebration which made Knicks fans unhappy. He mimicked a dice roll on the logo of New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. He was looking to tease home fans with a remark that Atlanta would take the flight to Vegas.

Trae Young had planned this celebration earlier

Trae Young is averaging 26.3 PPG on Madison Square Garden. It is the most by a point guard when playing at the New York Knicks’ home turf in the 3PT era. He expressed that he had planned on doing the celebration days before the matchup.

The 26-year-old also said he has a love-hate relationship with New York fans. The MSD crowd didn’t give a good welcome to the Hawks star when he arrived at the court to face the Knicks. Fans have offered him boos and chants before the game.

Jalen Brunson was also part of the 2021 playoff series for the Dallas Mavericks and shared his thoughts on Young’s celebration. The Knicks star has no grudges on Young’s celebration after the game. “We should win the game if we don’t want him to do that,” Brunson said.
